E is for ... what is E for?

Having written about my two favourite 'e' topics (Eurovision and Etymology) in previous bloglets, I was struggling to think of another one. Desperate for some inspiration I typed 'e is for' into an internet address bar and the first two suggestions for how to complete the sentence were 'elephant' and 'estranged'.

Alright then. I like a challenge.

Originally I thought I could write a story about an estranged elephant, but remembering my aim to keep bloglets short, I opted for a limerick instead.

Estranged Elephants
There once was a pachyderm from Fife
Whose snoring offended his wife
He tried to atone
By sleeping alone
But she killed him that night with a knife

Question: Do you have a favourite limerick?

  1. Love it! Well Done.

And no I didn't know all those facts in your D post. Unfortunately it takes me a lot longer than 8 minutes to get to sleep! So don't know where this one came from!

I don't read many limericks, but I hear them from friends sometimes. I don't really have a favorite.

  9. Oh my! That elephant married the wrong wife! Great limerick. I remember having to write these in sixth grade. It was such fun making them as wild and funny as we liked!

  10. This was fun! I read thru your previous posts and like the spontaneity I see here. Here is a limerick I wrote recently for the letter C on a meme I was participating in at the time. I love cats, so....

    Carlos the cantankerous cat
Would bite at the drop of a hat
When folks tried to pet him
He'd turn round and get 'em
He relished his role as a brat
