We still drink less tea halfway across the Atlantic, so it makes sense that we still leave out the Us, right? :-)<br /><br />As far as morning breath I seem to very vaguely remember reading (or possibly hearing) at some point in time that it has something to do with getting slightly dehydrated while sleeping for several hours.
